What is CreepyQueenMagazine?
CreepyQueenMagazine is an online blog, a print magazine, and an online community for crafty, alternative folk. If you'd like to know more about us, please check out our about us page- it has our mission statement, and links to the awesome contributers who make CQ great!
Does it Cost Anything to Become a Member?
Nope! Membership at CreepyQueenMagazine is absolutely free! When starting CreepyQueen, we decided that offering advertising instead of charging our members a fee would be the best course of action to cover all of our hosting and domain costs. There is no such thing as a 'Limited member' at CQM. Everyone has access to all of our content.
Can I Donate to CreepyQueenMagazine?
Because we offer advertising on our site, we felt it best to not have a donation button. That doesn't mean we don't need your support though. CQM is completely non-profit. Our ad sales, magazine sales, and promo item sales are what keep us running. If you would like to support us , please purchase an ad, or buy a button or promo pack to help spread the word. If you'd like to support CQM, but don't have the funds- please feel free to take and share any of our banners posted on our link us page. Thanks for your support! C
I thought CQM was non-profit. Why do you sell so much stuff, and charge for things?
Unfortunately running CreepyQueen isn't free. we have to pay a lot of fees to keep this place up and running. Every single penny of money the the site or magazine brings in, goes right back into it. We use the money to add more features- and make this place ultimately a better place for our members. We also need to have a nice little piggy bank handy to pay our shipping fees for prize winners. We're always thinking up and announcing new things, and it's thanks to our awesome advertisers that we can do this.
Are You Currently Looking for Staff/Writers/Bloggers/Forum Moderators/ People to Help Out?
Yes! We are always looking for people to contribute! The more the merrier. Please send an email to creepyqueen[at]live[dot]com, or get a hold of us via our contact page. Please tell us how you would be interested in participating. We are always looking for people to write weekly blogs, moderate certain threads of our forums, and writers to submit content to our published issues. Unfortunately, because CQM is non-profit, this is not a paid position, but a volunteer position. All contributers are compensated with free advertising, so if you have an online shop, blog, or website - it can really pay off!
How Can I Go About Donating a Product for Review or For a Giveaway?
Contact Us! We never turn away the opportunity to hold a contest or giveaway for our members! All you need to do, is send us an email, tell us a little bit about you and your shop or website and what you are interested on sending us!
How do I get an avatar to post beside my comments and in the forums?
If you want an avatar to post comments and in the forum, you need to get a gravatar. Visit gravatar.com and sign up with the email you use on CQM. Upload an image and poof! All of your comments will now have your new image besides them. Your gravatar will also work for the forum, but you also have the choice of uploading a forum avatar via the forum profile page.
I've logged in with my password in the registration email, but it is a bunch of random letters and numbers. How do I change it?
When logged in, select the 'profile' link on the member section of the sidebar. (bottom right). When viewing your profile, at the very bottom there are two text boxes for changing your password. Type your new password into both boxes, and update your profile. Be sure to right it down in a safe place!
Alright, I registered. I never received an email containing my password though, can you help?
First, check your spam folder. If you never received your password, or you miss-placed the email - contact us and provide us with your username and the email that you signed up with. We can set up a temporary password for you to log in with, which you can change immediately after logging in.
When I go to register, there is nowhere to input my desired password. How do I get a password?
A randomly generated password will be emailed to you to the email you specified on sign-up. This is to ensure that users provide their correct contact infortmation, and that we don't get spammers signing up on our community wh*ring their sh*t. This password is only temporary, and you can change it to something simpler to remember once you log in.
What are Referrals?
Every member received a unique referral URL when they sign-up. Every person that signs up to become a CQM membe via this URL counts as 1 referral. You can see how many referrals you currently have by Selecting your Profile Link on the sidebar when logged in.
Where can I find my Referral URL?
When logged into CreepyQueenMagazine.com, click on the profile tab on the sidebar. There you will find your unique referral URL, that you can paste on your website or store, or in forums or websites aroudn the interwebz.
Why should I bother Referring new Members?
Not only will it make CQM a more active and happenin' online hangout - but we often hold referral contests, where we award prizes to the top referrers. You can get a head start on these contests, by starting before the contest even starts! Also- we require that new street team mebers have at least 2 referrals before they apply, to ensure they are actively participating in the CQM community!
